As a startup executive, I believe that a diversity of experiences and talents, combined with the shared desire to create something extraordinary, naturally garners success. Through co-founding a law firm and a women’s leadership non-profit, and creating and producing two podcast, I’ve worn many hats. Trained in chemistry and law, my entrepreneurial adventures permitted me to also dive into operations, finance, sales, and marketing. I leverage this unique cross-functionality to build and inspire teams to manifest important change, unified behind a vision. I thrive in early-stage, fast-paced, technology-focused environments where teamwork is critical to success.
When not practicing law, I focus on social justice. Throughout 2017-2019, I engaged men and women in conversations on my podcast, “Unraveling Pink,” about gender bias and the “man box” to break down the assumptions that prevent women and men from showing up as their best selves. Unraveling Pink launched January 1, 2017, and is available on SoundCloud, iTunes, and unravelingpink.com. Spoiler: there is work across the gender spectrum for us to do before we reach true equality.
2020 brought about new challenges and, with it, a new podcast, “Sheltered in Place” - an improv-inspired, no script, no editing daily podcast experiment I undertook with my husband. It also unleashed a necessary and important focus on racial justice. Putting my time and effort into learning and action on the racial justice front, Unraveling Pink has taken a backseat for now. I’m exploring what’s next, either through Unraveling Pink, or an entirely new adventure.
I also serve on the Advisory Board of the CLUB, an incubator of women leaders and lead a Racial Justice arm of HiPower.
